Drop-off & Pick-up

Pick-up/Drop-off is on Lasuen St. located between Campus Dr & Arboretum Rd., which can be found by finding the green marker on the campus map linked below, or by visiting this page.

 

Please plan to arrive to campus at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour/panel start time.* When planning your transit to campus, please make sure to account for potential traffic delays and for the time required to find the bus drop-off location. It can take groups up to 25 minutes to get from the bus drop-off location to the tour start location, which is at the top of the Oval.

*To respect the time of our volunteers, and given that tours are 50 minutes long, groups arriving more than 15 minutes later than their scheduled tour time, will have their tour automatically cancelled.The panel, if scheduled, will continue as normal at its scheduled time and location.

Lunch Options

​

While we are unable to provide assistance with meals, there are numerous on-campus food/drink options for lunch, including:

• Jamba Juice

• Starbucks

• Subway

• Panda Express

• Cold Lunches

• Pizza

For more information on eating areas on campus, please visit our campus dining website. If you are interested in eating in one of the on-campus dining halls, let us know and we can provide you with information about purchasing meal tickets for your group in advance.

Transportation Requirements

​

As of 2014, all buses visiting campus are required to register with Parking & Transportation Services (P&TS) prior to their arrival.

If you are taking a bus, you must email us prior to your visit so that we can register your bus with P&TS. When we have this information, we will send you a reservation number. It is important that you give your bus driver this reservation number prior to your arrival on campus.

Directions

The following driving directions are to our Visitor Center.

 

From Highway 101 North & South

 

Take the Embarcadero Road exit west toward Stanford. At El Camino Real, Embarcadero becomes Galvez Street as it enters the campus. Stay in the left lane and continue toward the center of campus, past the stadium on the left, and crossing Campus Drive. There is visitor parking on Memorial Way at Galvez Street. (Note: The parking lot next to Memorial Way that appears on the Visitor Parking Map is closed. Visitor parking has been relocated to Memorial Way.) Additional metered parking is available nearby at the Burnham Pavilion at Serra Street and Arguello Way. Please check parking signs carefully and note that parking is monitored Monday - Friday, 8am. - 4pm. See the Parking section for more options.

From Highway 280 North & South

 

Exit onto Sand Hill Road and follow the signs for Stanford University. Heading east, drive approximately 3 miles to the Stanford Shopping Center. Turn right onto Arboretum Road (Nordstrom is on your right). Stay on Arboretum until it ends, then turn right onto Galvez Street. Move to the left lane and continue past the stadium and across Campus Drive. There is visitor parking on Memorial Way at Galvez Street. (Note: The parking lot next to Memorial Way that appears on the Visitor Parking Map is closed. Visitor parking has been relocated to Memorial Way.) From El Camino Real

 

Exit El Camino Real at University Avenue. Turn toward the hills (away from the center of Palo Alto). As you enter Stanford, University Avenue becomes Palm Drive. Go through one traffic light, and turn left onto Campus Drive at the first stop sign. Turn right at Galvez Street, the next stop sign. There is visitor parking on Memorial Way at Galvez Street. (Note: The parking lot next to Memorial Way that appears on the Visitor Parking Map is closed. Visitor parking has been relocated to Memorial Way.)
