People love ProMo. Don't believe us? Here's what they have to say.

TESTMONIALS FROM STUDENTS & TEACHERS

"Each Tour Guide was awesome! The students loved seeing a dorm room, hearing college stories, and interacting with a 'real live college student'! And the panel was SUPERB! [The volunteers] did an exceptional job framing the discussion. Rather than a free form, 'Any questions,' you provided a nice structure where they heard comments from the panelists about 'starting out at college', living in a dorm, how classes work, etc. That worked well with 4th graders and gave them a full picture of college. It was especially powerful to have several panel members who were the first generation in their family to college. The grad student did a great job of asking interactive questions of the group ('How many of you, your parents wake you up for school?')…and [the volunteers] did a beautiful job of incorporating family into their comments, which is especially important to Latino families, and an obstacle for students going away to college. We had a lot of parents on this trip (most of them immigrants), and the panelists and tour guides were SUCH an inspiration and an encouragement to them!!"

"Thank you for our tour on Friday! [the volunteer] did an amazing job motivating my students and their parents to think and talk about college... in both languages!!!!"

"I just wanted to thank you for hosting our school students today. The kids had an amazing time! [The volunteers] did an awesome job touring the kids around campus. Our students also very much enjoyed the interactive session with the student panel at Casa Zapata, and found it not only insightful but extremely motivating! Thank you for your time and efforts....very much appreciated."

"Thanks so much for hosting our students on Tuesday! The tours were great and the panel was awesome. It was particularly great that our students got to connect with such a diverse group of Stanford students. Many students reported that they felt "at home" visiting Stanford which would not have been their experience without ProMo. It was also really great to hear from Law Students that were able to speak to why they chose to pursue law. We've spent a lot of time talking to students about why they should consider a career in law, but it just doesn't have the same impact as it does when they hear it from current law students. Most students expressed interest in going to Stanford, and the few that didn't want to go to Stanford, still expressed interest in going to college. So overall, a wonderful experience for all of us!"

"I really enjoyed being part of the college panel today! Promo seems like an awesome organization. I will definitely be volunteering in the future. Just wanted to say keep up the good work!"

"I volunteered last quarter for the first time, and following the panel I always came out with the following message: 'I have been granted the opportunity to study at Stanford (or any college for that part) and I need to make sure I take advantage of the resources.' In motivating the students to pursue higher academic education, I in turn motivate myself to realize what I have and not waste it. It's a good reality check."
